About the project
Halford & Pace have designed libraries, civic halls and private houses across London, Lisbon and Copenhagen for forty years. Their buildings are quiet. They wanted a film that was quiet too.
The brief: show the practice the way its architects see it, without drone sweeps or a voice-over selling the work.
What we made: a four-minute film shot over eleven grey days, when the buildings have to carry the frame on their own. We filmed people using the spaces, not posing in them, and cut to the rhythm of footsteps and doors rather than music.
Where it lives: on the new archive website and at the practice's client evenings, alongside the identity we designed for them the same year.
